Hasanah in Education (HIE) recognizes that authors may need to withdraw a manuscript under certain circumstances. However, manuscript withdrawal must be conducted responsibly to protect the integrity of the editorial and peer-review process.
Authors may request withdrawal of their manuscript before the peer-review process begins by submitting a formal request to the editorial office.
The request should include the manuscript title, manuscript identification number, corresponding author's name, and a clear reason for withdrawal.
Withdrawal of a manuscript while it is under peer review should only be requested for legitimate reasons.
Authors should not withdraw a manuscript simply because of disagreement with reviewer comments, expected editorial decisions, or the possibility of rejection.
The editorial team will review the withdrawal request before confirming the withdrawal.
Withdrawal after a manuscript has been formally accepted is generally discouraged.
If an author requests withdrawal after acceptance, the editorial team may assess the circumstances and determine whether the request can be approved.
Where applicable, reasonable administrative or publication costs already incurred by the journal may be considered in accordance with the journal's policies.
Once an article has been formally published, it cannot normally be withdrawn as a standard manuscript withdrawal.
If serious problems are identified after publication, the journal will consider appropriate action under its Retraction and Correction Policy.
Such action may include a correction, expression of concern, or retraction.
Authors must not submit the same manuscript simultaneously to another journal.
If evidence shows that a manuscript submitted to HIE has also been submitted or published elsewhere without proper withdrawal, the journal may reject or withdraw the manuscript and may take further action in accordance with its Publication Ethics policy.
Authors should not withdraw a manuscript without informing the editorial office or without receiving formal confirmation of withdrawal.
If a manuscript is withdrawn without proper notification, the journal may contact the corresponding author and take appropriate editorial action.
All withdrawal requests must be submitted by the corresponding author through the appropriate communication channel provided by HIE.
The request should contain:
Where multiple authors are listed, the corresponding author should confirm that all authors agree with the withdrawal request.
A manuscript is considered officially withdrawn only after the editorial office has provided written confirmation.
Until formal confirmation is issued, the manuscript remains under consideration and authors should not submit the same manuscript to another journal.
HIE does not permit manuscript withdrawal for the purpose of avoiding legitimate peer-review concerns, concealing academic misconduct, or transferring a manuscript to another journal while it is still under active consideration.
Any suspected misconduct associated with a withdrawal request may be investigated according to the journal's Publication Ethics policy.
HIE is committed to handling withdrawal requests fairly, transparently, and responsibly while protecting the integrity of the scholarly publishing process.
