Archiving Policy

The journal is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation and accessibility of all published scholarly content. The journal participates in digital preservation mechanisms provided by the Public Knowledge Project Preservation Network (PKP PN) and may utilize LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and other recognized digital preservation systems.

1. PKP Preservation Network

The journal uses the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) to support the long-term preservation of published articles and journal content.

PKP PN is designed to provide decentralized digital preservation for journals published using the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform.

Through PKP PN, eligible journal content may be preserved independently of the journal's primary website and publishing platform.

2. LOCKSS

Where supported and applicable, the journal participates in the LOCKSS preservation system.

LOCKSS provides a distributed preservation mechanism in which multiple copies of digital content can be maintained across participating preservation systems.

This approach helps protect published content against accidental loss, technical failure, platform changes, or discontinuation of the journal website.

3. Preserved Content

The journal seeks to preserve the following scholarly content:

  • Published articles

  • Article metadata

  • Abstracts and keywords

  • Author information

  • References

  • Published issues and volumes

  • Supplementary materials, where applicable

  • DOI and persistent identifier information, where applicable

4. Long-Term Accessibility

The journal is committed to maintaining the long-term accessibility and integrity of its published content.

Digital preservation is intended to ensure that scholarly content remains available to readers and researchers even if the journal experiences technical problems, changes its publishing platform, or ceases regular publication.

5. OJS and Digital Preservation

The journal's use of Open Journal Systems (OJS) supports the management, publication, dissemination, and preservation of scholarly content.

The editorial team is responsible for maintaining accurate publication metadata and ensuring that published content is properly archived through available preservation mechanisms.

6. Post-Publication Changes

Published articles are preserved as part of the permanent scholarly record.

When a published article requires a correction, Expression of Concern, or retraction, the journal will maintain the original publication record and clearly associate the relevant post-publication notice with the article.

Published content will not be removed or substantially altered without an appropriate editorial and ethical basis.

7. Author Self-Archiving

Authors may archive and share their published articles in accordance with the journal's copyright and licensing policy.

Where applicable, authors may deposit their published work in institutional repositories, subject repositories, or other recognized scholarly repositories.

Any reuse or redistribution must comply with the applicable Creative Commons license.

8. Journal Discontinuation

If the journal ceases publication, reasonable efforts will be made to ensure the continued preservation and accessibility of previously published scholarly content through PKP PN, LOCKSS, repositories, or other appropriate digital preservation services.

The objective is to prevent the loss of the journal's scholarly record following discontinuation of publication.

9. Preservation Responsibility

The publisher and editorial team are responsible for maintaining appropriate digital preservation arrangements and periodically reviewing the journal's archiving practices.

The journal may adopt additional preservation services when necessary to strengthen the long-term security, accessibility, and integrity of its published content.

10. Commitment to Digital Preservation

The journal recognizes digital preservation as an essential component of responsible scholarly publishing and is committed to ensuring that published research remains:

  • Accessible

  • Discoverable

  • Authentic

  • Citable

  • Secure

  • Preserved for long-term scholarly use

The Archiving Policy may be updated when necessary to reflect developments in digital preservation technology, OJS infrastructure, PKP preservation services, and recognized scholarly publishing standards.
